Philip Short believes that people are like elements on a periodic table.  Some of us are very stable while others of us are extremely volatile.  And just like periodic elements our reactions are influenced by the how, why, when, where, quality, and quantity of elements we are mixed with.

The challenge and the reward of photographing people is being able to observe and capture these unique emotive and physical reactions at just the right moment for a spectacular photograph.
